Undiagnosed adult ADHD - need help was created by debslosjoe
My daughter who is 29 has struggled with ADHD her whole life. Its ruined friendships, relationships and shes tried so hard in every job shes had but after a year or so they always get rid of her. I know the waiting lists to get a diagnosis are really long. Is it worth applying for PIP anyway? And what sort of evidence do I need to show? Any advice would help. Thanks for reading this.

Does your daughter have any records with medical professionals that stem from the difficulties associated with ADHD? (Things like anxiety, depression, etc. It would be easier if she had. If she's willing, get the GP to refer her so you can truthfully say she is on the waiting list.
She can still apply without the diagnosis. As her mother, you can write a supporting letter saying how it affects her daily life. If anyone else can confirm the difficulties (with communication and concentration issues) - such as a work colleague- that could also be helpful. She could also keep a diary from now, citing her difficulties. We have a template and examples of those. Read through the Guide to PIP claims and reviews. It is very extensive, and you can see for yourselves the sorts of answers she might give. Only you can decide whether it's worth it or not. www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip
