Despite my award being valid until November 23 I received my PIP review paperwork December last year, a sort of DWP Christmas present which I thought was particularly spiteful, made worse by the fact it arrived very late (22nd December) due to the Xmas post and had to be returned by January 6th, ruined my Christmas completely.
I managed to get an extension until February but returned it recorded delivery before the January deadline anyway as I dont trust them one iota.
Had the first "update" SMS saying we are still dealing etc. in March then another in June and finally the last one was on 11th September, so thats an SMS every three months.
On Monday morning I had another SMS saying they have made a decision on my case and would be sending a letter in the next two weeks to tell me what my award is, same text said do not call to ask about the results as they wont tell you over the phone, what kind of soulless turds are these people?
I've had no interview, visit or phone call so I dont know what to expect, it's the not knowing that makes it all much worse, given my anxiety issues I will now worry for the next two weeks.
I firmly believe the DWP really are deliberately malicious.

Hi _Paul_
It sounds like they have made a paper-based decision. They tell claimants to wait for the decision so that the call handlers don't have to deal with anyone who might be upset - or to stop them giving inaccurate information. Having said that, some people have been told over the phone. I hope that you get the outcome you're seeking.

Cheers Bud and Chris
I'm not too worried about losing PIP auto renewal - as i submitted 70 pages of medical evidence - my main concern is understanding if the SMS means something's happening now or if it's possible it's just an automatic periodic reminder - so Bud has clarified that ...

I’ve had my PIP extended now for another 12 months. Although I’m expecting them to send me for an assessment a lot sooner. I’d prefer a letter saying same award …
