Council tax increase after being awarded LCWRA?

Good afternoon,

I've recently had an 'ok to work' decision reversed (tribunal was booked but DWP settled without going to court). I'm now in the LCWRA group for UC, and i've had my cbESA restarted, in the support group. Today, I've had a council tax letter arrive, and it says the reason for it is "Council Tax Support has been adjusted". When I first went on UC /ESA / PIP, i applied for CT support, and ended up having zero to pay. Now though, i'm being asked to pay £213 a month. I phoned the council to ask, and I was told because my income has gone up, I get less reduction of my bill.

That seems odd to me - I get an amount extra for being in the LCWRA group, but i'm having to give well over half of it back as council tax.
Is this normal? The guy on the council tax phone line quoted back what my benefits are, and said I can write and complain but that it's correct.

Thank you in advance

Hi Enigma123

It is correct, it happened to a client of mine a few weeks ago, she worked part time and was placed in the LCWRA group.

Her local council wrote to her to reduce her Council Tax Support, on a postiive note she also received the work allowance, so she was financially better off.
