UC WCA Assessment Report was created by Kelly
Hello, I have recently had a work capability assessment over the phone (I did not fill in the UC50) The assessor did not want to know about all of my conditions and all of my medications, she said she had enough information. Within a few days I had an award letter via my UC journal, saying I was awarded LCWRA.
About a week after the award letter I received a text saying a pip review form was being sent out to me. (My pip review had been previously extended to Aug 24)
I am a little worried why it has been suddenly changed as I have just ordered my new motabilty car. I would never manage without it.
I read my WCA letter and in it it said ‘if you want a full copy of your assessment report, or need more information, please call us on 0800 328 5644.
I called this number and a lady answered to whom I asked for a full copy of my assessment report. The lady then read out to me my award letter, which I had already read as I had a copy of the letter. I told her this and that and said I was requesting the WCA full report but it seemed to me that she was ignoring my request.
I then asked the lady again for a copy of my assessment report and she told me to sign into my UC journal and click payments and make my request there. I said “why request it under ‘payments’?”, her response was “that’s where you have to request it”.
I did as she said, made the request in my journal, under ‘payments’ and UC replied by saying that they were sending my request to the Job Centre.
I wonder if you could please advise if this the norm ?
Thank you.

Hi Kelly,
As far as I'm aware, a lot of the PIP awards were extended by another year due to the backlog. This happened to me in May 2023 - It was extended by a further year to May 2024, but then in June, I recieved my appt for my HCP appt. I lost my PIP award in June of this year, but contested it via MR, then to the Courts, and I was awarded it back, with the money backdated. This could be a similar case with the timing with you, that they're simply catching up, and it's co-incidental that they've happened at the same time. Reason I say this is because the DWP often say that PIP and LCWRA have different descriptors.
As for the LCWRA - I've only ever used the payments menu to report a change in my Income, I've never heard of what you mentioned the lady had told you. I would personally send a message to a workcoach via your journal to ask - I'd imagine they'd know better.
My PIP report I remember getting via calling the PIP enquiry line, but my HCP report when I applied for LCWRA but only got LCW - I mentioned it to my workcoach and she accessed the system and got me a copy sent in the post within a couple of days, although whether they're meant to do this or not, I've no idea.
I believe that this also is a link you can use to request any information from the DWP, however I would imagine that it's timetaking to get it sent out.

Hope this information helps.
Regards, Chris.

Claimants who have been awarded LCWRA lose their work coach and the journal entries are read by the case manager.
