Hi, I Reach State pension age on the 22nd December 2023 and currently receive ESA Contribution Based and I in the support group. I also receive Pip high rate care and mobility, I am due my ESA payment on the 15th of December 2023 and retire 1 week later on the 22nd December, will I get any arrears owed me or just a standard ESA payment as I have been told it is paid in arrears. Also my PIP end date is November 2024 will I have to reclaim my PIP.
ESA is paid fortnightly in arrears so I would expect one more payment to cover the period 16/12/ to 22/12.
If you have an End Date to your award then you will be reassessed at any time up to a year earlier. Although it is called a review you are still being assessed against the same criteria as when you originally applied, the only difference is that, in theory anyway, they should use the documentation from your previous assessments.
