Quick call from the DWP - ESA was created by LauraJane
Hi there,
I've just taken a quick call from a nurse who works for the DWP about my recent claim. She only wanted to ask a few questions about my mobility and the call lasted about 5 minutes. She said that I wouldn't be called in for an interview and she will process my claim immediately.
I think that I read on here somewhere that if they call out of the blue like this that I won't be put in the support group for ESA. Would this be true? Sorry I can't find the information.
I've had my condition for 28 years, it has not gotten any better its caused a lit of problems. I actually started crying on the phone and I wished that I didn't do that.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I have never heard of any connection between an assessment call and a claimant being refused an SG award.
That said, remember the ESA Moving Around test also includes your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances used for walking. You do not need to be using or even own a wheelchair for this to be considered.

Thanks for your reply. I really didn't mean to double post. I was panicking after the call and it was my first time of posting in the forums. Now I understand that the post needs to be monitored first.
