Hi, my mobility part of PIP has been reduced to standard rate as the assessor would not accept that I could not go out with another person without causing me distress as I am on Citalopram .
I am unable to go out without assistance as I need a wheelchair to walk more than a few yards and cannot self propel due to fatigue. I therefore only ever go out with my husband who drives the car and pushes my wheelchair.
I have gone through MR & they have upheld it.
Could you please advise, should I get points for needing another person to enable me to go out?

The Going Out activity looks at your ability to plan a route, leave your house and to follow a route, assessors will be looking at your mental health, cognitive ability and any sensory problems which prevent you from doing these tasks.
Specifically, it does not consider any physical issues that prevent you from doing them so your wheelchair usage is excluded.
You mention distress, does this amount to "overwhelming psychological distress"?
If your walking is as restricted as you say then I would have expected you to have met the Moving Around 20m test which would have scored the 12 points that you need. What did you score?

In my initial video assessment it was noted that I said I would have difficulty planning or following a journey. Due to brain fog & cognitive problems with ME/CFS this is certainly the case.
My Citalopram certainly helps with anxiety & panic attacks but should I need to plan & follow a journey without help this would definitely exacerbate the situation.

I really hate the term "brain fog" I know it is used by the professionals when talking about ME/CFS and similar conditions but in my opinion it undermines the seriousness of the problem, I much prefer "cognitive dysfunction".
That said, it is surprisingly difficult to score for planning a journey without a clear diagnosis of some sort of cognitive disability.
Do you think that the 20m-50m is reasonable?
