Capita have no knowledge of 48hr timeframe for report writing it seems...they said they aim to complete report after assessment and send to dwp within 6-8 weeks????? Is that the norm now then?

Hi Merry

No, it is not a new timeframe and the person who told you that is misinforming you. There is absolutely no excuse for a report taking 6 - 8 weeks. There's a good reason why it should be returned in 48 hours so the assessor doesn't get one client muddled up with another. How can they write an accurate report six weeks after the event? If the report was being internally audited - that would cause a delay - otherwise, there is no excuse, and it's against the DWP guidelines.

Hi merry

As BIS has stated DWP should get the report within 48 hrs unless it has been picked for a review/audit.

You should make a formal complaint and try and get your MP involved, some MP are very pro-active, others less so.

called again today and they said the same thing - no 48hr turnaround exists and they always say 6-8 weeks for them to do the report!!! - is this a new rule? Where do we find their timeframe rules?

Hi merry

I think you may be asking the wrong question.

It usually takes 6 - 8 week for a decision to be made but you can get a copy of the assessors report within 48 hours after the assessment has been made, the report is called a PA4.
