Sending PIP form in by Royal Mail was created by wibblum
Hi again,
My PIP Review form is all set to go, just wondering if I send it tomorrow morning (Saturday) by signed for next day delivery, will they leave it until Monday to try and deliver it or try it on Sunday when no-one will be there? Which is the best way to send it if not?
Tuesday is my original deadline (although i did get an extension) so I want to try and get it in by then so the DWP have no excuse to play silly beggars.

Hi wibblum
That is a 6 million dollar question and I have absolutely no idea, delivery of post has been pot luck over the last year, all we can say is make sure you send it by recorded delivery, if you need it by next day then send it by special delivery, and the check next day on Royal Mail website that it was received, time and who signed for it, once you have that information contact DWP to see if it has been up loaded on their system.

I sent some extra evidence by recorded delivery , it even said it had been delivered , yet when I rang they said nothing was on there system ,
So I printed it out again and sent it by first class recorded delivery on Tuesday, just checked and it hasn't even been delivered yet,
I'm not sure If there is any delays on post but usually first class gets there latest 2 days ,
It's ridicolous ,
But I would deffo do as Gary suggested and ring them and make sure they have it on there system

Special Delivery is Mon to Fri by at the latest 9am or 1pm depending on what you state. So they won't try Sunday, also if you specify 9am it will most likely be delivered at 6am.
If you posted today you need to check with the PO counter whether there is a SD collection and whether it's been. Otherwise it won't be collected from the PO until Monday and delivered on Tuesday.
Bear in mind that I assume like many companies they'll have a bulk mail sorting office, so whether you get a signature isn't guaranteed, though usually is for SD. We sent ours 1st recorded a week last Friday, we'd sent something elsewhere that was shown as received Saturday Morning, but the DWP didn't get acknowledged by RM as signed for, though we got the DWP text on Tuesday showing received it.
If Tuesday is your original deadline but you got an extension, I'd wait a few days before worrying.

Hi
I don't know if this is of any use, but its good to know.
I had to call up regular asking for extension upon extension , each time they gave me the max they could at the time of the call which was about 5 weeks, aslong as you got good reason why you cant make the deadline each time they will keep extending it but up to a max of 13months.
I took 7 months in all to do my form, then further 5 months to get all supporting evidence in.
You can call them up to tell them you need more time.
You must also ask for extension each time you reach their deadline and ask for the max they can give you as its more generous than two weeks.
Thats what I've learnt anyway.
Its a minefield I'm still learning
And a big thanks to B&W , I can see how much they’ve helped so many people out y what Im learning here.. Without this Pearl of a site and ongoing support most people wont get a foot in the door let alone take on the battle afterwards.
