Pip Review Evidence was created by metrorider
I’ve just received a text from PIP to say that my review forms are being sent out. To prepare for this I’ve requested from my new GP surgery a letter stating my diagnosis’s on my medical file from the registered GP I’ve been assigned too. However, they have refused this despite my request saying that the DWP will write to them requesting any further information and will bill them accordingly. Is this the new protocol because my previous surgery’s have been more than happy to do a ‘Whom it may concern’ confirmation of my mental health diagnosis’s as confirmation for mr to send to with my form. If I haven’t got any up to date evidence then I fear they will send me for an assessment.

Hi Metrorider

Some GPs are happy to write letters that can be sent to the DWP for their patients; others are not. Unfortunately, your new surgery falls into the category of 'not'; if that's their stance, I doubt you can get them to change their mind. Unless they charge you, they don't get any money for writing a letter for you. If the DWP contact them, they get paid for the effort!

If your mental health diagnosis has not changed - send a previous confirmation letter and say that your issues are ongoing. If you want a paper-based assessment, you need to say so. If that's what you had in the past - make it clear.
