ESA85 factually incorrect was created by Clarisse
I had my ESA WCA on 30th June and was very satisfied when I was placed in support group. I requested a copy of ESA85 which I have received today.
The telephone assessment was very short - 22 minutes - and the HP only asked questions regarding my incontinence issues saying she had enough information and didn’t need to ask any further questions.
I have applied for PIP and I’m waiting for IAS to contact me for assessment.
I currently have significant mobility issues at present due to a complex leg fracture which is likely to leave me with permanent weakness etc. which is why I have claimed PIP as I know my incontinence issues alone will not score enough for an award.
My concern is that I’m aware that DWP can cross reference ESA and PIP claims and the HP has put that I wash and dress every day, I do housework and laundry once a week and prepare meals every day. I was not asked about any of these tasks and if I had been I would have said I rely on help and support from friends and family for all of these. Obviously when completing my ESA50 I stated the difficulties I have with these tasks and the telephone transcript of the assessment will show these were not discussed but should I contact ESA to say the report is incorrect? Really concerned that this is going to impact my PIP claim.

Hi Clarisse

I would not put too much weight on what the ESA assessor has written.

Just concentrate on your PIP application, remember when you complete section things that you cannot do you need to say why you cannot do it. Do not worry about repeating yourself across each question, for each question the why you cannot do something is the important part, use our guides to help you, they are very well written, tie in any answers with any supporting documents.

You can use the same supporting document across various questions, but remember the why.
