Hi I just spoke to DWP regarding the form I returned on 4th July. It was due back by 24th July. The woman said it has been received and scanned onto the system on 21st July. I asked her if I would get a confirmation message and she said they don't do that and the next point of contact would be regarding an assessment. I know other people who received confirmation texts. I have been receiving the benefit since 2016 since having been made early ill health retired and I will be 60 in a few months time. This was the first time they contacted me regarding the WCA questionnaire. Naturally I am sick with the worry of it all and it is making me feel so ill. I never expected this at my age and out of the blue.
Text messages from the DWP are inconsistent, and it is hard to know what they do send out these days. At least you know it has been received and is on the system.
A lot of people are suddenly receiving the WCA after many years of not having had one. They are supposed to send them out for one, two or three years. They have been battling a huge backlog which they are working on clearing. Several of our members have reported suddenly receiving them after many years just before their state retirement age. It won't make you feel better, but you're not alone.
