Call before PIP assessment was created by Annie
Hi
I’ve got my pip telephone assessment on Monday. They said someone would call me yesterday from DWP to confirm the appointment make sure still on for Monday. This normal procedure but they never called, should I be concerned?

Thanks

Hi Kap

I can't tell you whether you should be worried or not. They do sometimes ring and confirm that appointments are going to take place, and unfortunately, calls that have been promised are often not made. What it means for your assessment, I can't say. I really hope that it takes place.

Thank you so I did finally get a text message the day before saying it was booked, then disaster at the time the appointment someone called me and said sorry to do this but we have to cancel it! All the work up and stress and getting my mum to help me. Im so disappointed. I mean not even in the morning to tell me, it was at the exact time of my appointment. They should not do this not very professional or empathetic to us sufferers.

Hi Kap

I'm sorry this happened to you. Not that it helps, but one of our other members had three last-minute cancellations - so unfortunately, you are not alone in this. Thankfully, she finally had her assessment last week. I hope yours soon takes place.
