Hi I have just won my pips full care & mobility ( thanks to the fantastic information from this site.so Thankyou) My question is ... can I claim the severe disability allowance ( premium) on my ESA now I am entitled to full components of pips ? I am a single mum on contributions ESA ( support group ) and I believe people on the means tested ESA get this ....so my question is can I claim this premium on contributions ESA ??? Any suggestions please ..Thankyou
The Premiums are not payable with Contribution Based ESA, you can ask to be assessed for Income Related ESA, this will be paid as a top-up to your ESA(CB). ESA(IR) is dependant on your household income, your savings and assets, and any hours that your partner works. See
