Full pip on appeal tribunal was created by Johninpain
Well Johns journey from full DLA for 10+years to pip started in November 2016 and after all the usual fuss and pointless mandatory reconsideration he was only given standard rates for both so with help from your guides we appealed with detailed information we finally got the tribunal date for today 12th Feb we walked into the office they asked John 8 very simple questions then said they needed to discuss something legal amongst themselves would we wait in the next room we did and within 10 mins the clerk of court presented us with a notice of allowing the appeal and the tribunal awarded full pip on both parts and the DWP need to back pay it .
Thank you very much

That's terrific news, well done.

It usually takes the DWP 5-8 weeks to put a Tribunal Decision into payment, I would give them a call later in the week to make sure that they have received the Decision Notice.

This is good news and well done

I too was receiving DLA and had to apply for PIP. Was refused up to the mandatory reconsideration stage. An appeal has been lodged and I now have the worrying wait. I am sick with worry as to what the outcome will be and dreading having to go to appeal.

I am not sleeping due to the worry and uncertainty and feel physically sick. I know I am not going to be able to cope with any questions that are asked of me. I am carer to my husband and am going through a great deal of stress as a result of all of this.

I have worked all my life and paid national insurance contributions for over 46 yrs . I know this should not be an automatic right to receive any type of benefit but feel it should entitle me to a fair and honest assessment of need, which I along with others have not received. I have got to a stage in my life were I am unable to work and have been medically retired as it is felt because of severe osteoarthritis I am unable to carry on working.

I feel let down by the system I have paid in to and have been treated as if I am a parasite.

Any advice as to what happens at appeal would be greatly appreciated. As i havent got a clue what to expect which is in itself seriously affecting my health and wellbeing.

Thank you

Jo

You've replied to a post from over a month ago, the OP may no longer be online!

Although the following is for ESA it should give you goo idea of how a Tribunal operates, obviously the questions will be about your PIP claim and there will be a third member on the panel who covers disability issues.
