ESA Support group for how long/? was created by monikoki
Hello every one.I've been rewarded ESA beginning from October 2015,and I am in the Support group.I've been also rewarded with PIP at the Standard rate for mobility and daily leaving, thanks to you, thanks to this site from where I've learned every single steps from application to Mandatory Reconsideration Letter and Appeal against the initial decision made by DWP.And I thank you so much for your existence!:)
My question is for how long I will get ESA in the support group, being based on my National Insurance Contribution Record? When I should reapply for(if),or the Job Centre will contact me?
Thank you so much in advance for your answers.

Hello monikoki,

ESA does not have an end date as such, but claimants are usually reassessed from anything between 3 months and 3 years. Although your decision letter doesn't state how long before your reassessment you can contact the office dealing with your claim and they should be able to confirm when your reassessment will be. There have been deferments due to a backlog and some members have seen their awards made without reassessment for a further period. More recently it has been announced that claimants with the most serious lifelong conditions that will not improve may be exempted from further reassessment. No details have as yet been forthcoming but there have been a few members informed by the DWP that they will not go through further reassessment.
