Placed in ESA support group without assessment

I have, today, received a notice from DWP informing me that I have been placed in the ESA support group. This is a total shock to me because I have not been asked to attend a f2f assessment even though I was awarded ESA in March 2017. Judging by other contributors accounts I assumed I would be called around 8 months. Now I really am unsure what to expect next?

My letter also informs me that I have been awarded £109.65 from 31st May 2017 and back payment of the difference between the basic £73,10 will be paid into my account shortly.

I am really curious because I believed a capability f2f was always carried out, furthermore the letter informs me the amounts discussed apply from 6th June 2017 - 27th November 2017, may I ask, what happens then? If anyone can help I would be extremely grateful.

Kind regards,
Milly

Congratulations on the award. A face to face is usually required for a new claim so there must have been considerable weight accepted for the contents of your ESA50 and the information attached.

The date in November is an administrative date connected to the payment of the Christmas Bonus, your ESA will continue in payment until a new Decision on your claim is made. You can find out when you are likely to be reassessed by contacting the DWP office that deals with your claim, they should be able to tell you from your computer record.

I've done two claim forms for my daughter now. Both resulted in support group without an interview of any kind.
The last one - when I spoke to some one who said it was for 3 years - started 29.08.2015.

However in a subsequent letter it said 22.7.15 to 29.7.17 [only two years]
However I have not received any more paperwork. Is it likely, given they have not asked for any interview so far [she transferred from IB and has been in receipt of benefits since age 18], that she may come into the new move to stop re-assessing people who clearly qualify?
Thanks
Juba

Hi Juba,
Many assessments have been delayed because of backlogs in the system, I think this is possibly what has happened with your daughter's ESA.

I'm afraid we have no information about who will be 'excused' from regular reassessments or how this will be implemented.

Many thanks Gordon, I have taken your advice and tryed to call the DWP number on my letter, however it just keeps going to voicemail. Very annoying! I will try again tomorrow.

Kind regards,
Milly
