PIP Appeal success! was created by Peter T
I had my PIP Appeal tribunal this morning: not only have they reversed DWP's decision to stop my standard rate for mobility, but they have increased it to enhanced rate, and for an indefinite period! :cheer: :

I used the B&W guides and templates when composing both my 'mandatory reconsideration request' letter and my appeal submission, and I'm sure that helped to make a difference (although I also owe a big thank you to Aparna, the disability adviser at the British Polio Federation, who also gave me some very helpful advice).

The whole process, from DWP's review decision letter to today's tribunal decision, has been a stressful 6 months, but at least now I've got some relief and certainty.

So, for those of you currently struggling through the process: there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Hi. I am awaiting a Tribunal date. I also had polio and was previously awarded Higher rate Mobility under DLA rulings. When transferring to PIP this was reduced to the standard rate. May I just ask if the focus at Appeal was on your being unable to walk more than 20m on majority of occasions; and safely, at reasonable speed etc. Thanking you.

As far as I can tell Peter has not been on the forum since they last posted some seven moths ago.

Many of our members only visit the forum when they are being reassessed so we tend to have only limited opportunity for conversation.

Thanks Gordon. I may well have erred by posting to a few people from their past posts. I understand what you are saying that the site has a 'time of need' purpose. Would people still be informed if a question has been asked relating to their post from some time ago?
