Hello to you all and I want to say thank you, without the information gathered on this website I don't think I would of found the courage to apply for PiP.

I already have ESA and have been told for many years to apply for DLA but I never did.

Any way after many months of building up the courage I submitted a claim in November 2016, and today I got the brown letter to tell me I have enhanced on both modules for 4 years, this came as a massive shock to me because I half expected my claim to be rejected.

Again thank you all here, without your help and information I don't think I would of had the courage and when I did I did not think I would get anything.

I have mental health problems with other medical problems..

I never asked for a Atos home assessment (I wanted one but I was too worried to ask), Atos contacted me and told me they will send out a HCP to my home dated 7 days later,

The HCP came to my home, he was very polite and seemed very understanding, I will be honest I was a nervous wreck having a stranger here and with the added fear after reading so many bad ATOS problems.

A part from being nervous by having the HCP here he was very good.

I was asked several questions and also asked to do some movements and asked to sqeeze his fingers and push up and down against his hands/arms stength, I think the assessment lasted about 90 minutes.
I guess I was one of the lucky ones because all I can say about that assessment he was caring and seemed to understand my problems, he said I will know the results from the DWP in 6-8 weeks.

Wow I got a result within 10 days.

I hope this gives some hope to people suffering with Mental Health Problems and of course to everyone else, I hope you all get a HCP like I did.

I mentioned Mental Health Problems because I have read here not very long ago, they are so worried about how to get a home visit, I'm sure you should go with the good advice from this website and get a Doctors letter, the only reason I did not was I am under so much stress at the moment and on top of it all my Doctor just retired so I just hoped and prayed, I feel so lucky I got one..

Just before I finish I must say when I claimed I did include many up to date medical letters from the Hospitals etc, the HCP told me at the end of the assessment, from what he had experienced I backed up that evidence so please keep all letters etc from the Hospital/Doctors/Nurses, it all helps.
Good luck to you all, I feel for any one and everyone of you who are at the starting gate like I was just a few months ago.
Again thank you to all the Moderators and the people behind the scenes and members of this website.
Regards
Graham
