i won!! - i am astounded
the judge actually told me straight away in the room - after the questions and before they even had a chance to talk about what i had said
- so i think they had probably made the decision before i even arrived
and just used their questioning to confirm things

i feel really weird because i was ready for a fight and i didnt have to

i am SO SO SO grateful to the wise words and encouragement from the people on
this site - and also for all the information in your booklets

i would not have done this without you, i would have just turned away obediently
in silence

I dont know how long i was in there, but not that long, probably about half an hour
and i was only questioned by the doctor

the judge was writing and did pass a note or two between the others and then when the dr stopped talking, the judge just said something about how they had all the information they needed to give me the award and agreed with the points i had made
they upheld my appeal or something,
i went blank, as i was utterly convinced he was going to ask more or say i had lost
but he just explained that he was happy with the information i had given them and it was up to me, but that i didnt have to go into any more detail or subject myself to any more stress than i already had unless i wanted to

INCREDIBLE

thank you all for the good wishes

I had thought I would feel great
stupid stupid me
of course it has messed up my head like everything does
I think it is the effect of all the stress and focus

I have to say I was impressed by the attitude of ALL the staff I encountered, right down to the security guard on the door who was only too happy to show me how the doors worked so I could get in and out easily if I needed to

it was quite a shock when I was taken into the tribunal room, as there were 5 people in there, and since I had already been told no one from dwp had turned up, I almost turned and ran out the door

then the judge explained that the disabilities 'expert' was deaf, so the extra 2 people were there to sign for him

Well done and congratulations!

From my own experience, it is intensely stressful: one of the hardest things I've ever done, and more so for being ill.

I would say it takes time for the success to sink in. Please give yourself time and space to unwind.
