Double Success - but at huge effort! was created by KeithSales
I bought membership when it was £20. It's even better value at present.
Some months ago my adult disabled daughter received the ESA50 questionnaire. Only heaven could have helped her had she not had a Dad who had heard of Benefits & Work.
Cut this bit short - the outcome of using the Guide was a couple of anxious months of waiting, followed by elevation to the Support Group - Grateful sighs, closely followed by receipt of the PIP papers.
Again the Guides were consulted, the form filled in and sent, but this time not so easy! She was summoned for a 'face to face' some 14 miles away. She was in the middle of one of her 'dark' stages, demonstrating acute psychiatric disturbances as well as her more common physical problems.
And it was a really 'dark' stage, where she was rude, abusive and really aggressive to the perfectly nice lady conducting the 'face to face' for Atos, though even she had to threaten to end the examination at 'half time', such was my daughters conduct!
Fortunately, right at the start, I provided the examiner with a copy of the Council Tax bill for my daughter's flat, wherein it is stated that she is Exempt (from paying CT) because of Severe Mental Impairment, and this must have struck a chord somewhere with the examiner because, although I thought 'that's torn it', within two weeks she got a letter saying that PIP had been awarded, for BOTH parts, at the ENHANCED rate - and for TEN years!
So, although ESA and PIP are evil, not everyone is! And bless you, Benefits & Work!
