DLA To PIP was created by Norma Hind
My wife has MS and has been claiming DLA for about six years. Despite her obvious condition backed up by letters from various specialists, it was refused at last renewal. We had a very stressful time making an appeal which was granted without the need to attend a hearing. The fact that they gave in so easily suggested to us that the claim had just been rejected out of hand in the hope that we would just give in.
So, we knew the PIP application had to be done this year and we were dreading it. My wife was actually making herself ill worrying about the medical she would have to attend. When we came across this website it seemed like the answer to our prayers. IT WAS! With the help of the detailed instructions offered we filled out the application and sent it off together with lots of supporting letters from very qualified professionals who were involved with my wife's condition and care. The guide was comprehensive and enlightening. Still though, we dreaded the next stage - the medical. Imagine our relief when we were contacted by the company who carry out the medicals and told that they would not need to see my wife! The application form was so detailed and the supporting evidence so comprehensive that they did not see the need to put my wife through the trauma of the formal assessment.
The end result is that she has been granted PIP at the higher level for ten years! We cannot thank this site and those involved in it's running enough! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
Keep up the good work!

Hello Norma
(If that's your full name at the top of the email, then you can change it if you want to - go to 'Frequently Asked Questions' and it will explain it to you there.)
Thank you so much for your kind words - it's good to know that the website and guides are so useful. It's an excellent award - 10 years is one of the longest awards I personally have seen. I hope it makes your lives a little bit easier, knowing you don't have to go through all the worry and upset again for such a long time.

Wow that's fantastic, I'm having a nightmare with the change from DLA to PIP and have nearly finished the letter to appeal. I'm really depressed and exhausted by all. I used to get low care and high mobility but now I've lost my high mobility. It's so good to read a story where you didn't have to fight to get what you deserve. Well done x
