I just wanted to say a huge thank you to B&W. You guys are brilliant. I just received my ESA decision and I have been placed in the Support Group. This was all done with the help of your excellent guides that I subscribed to.
My assessment with Maximus was a nightmare, as a recording was not done on the day and the HCP was from hell. On the day of my assessment I was made to walk to the furthest assessment room even though I have severe osteoarthritis and was treated appallingly by the HCP. I was told by the HCP that he was there to assess my benefit. In my mind I was like "oh really". His attitude completely changed when I explained that I had previously worked for the DWP. He then rushed through the assessment.
Please, please I cannot stress enough, provide as much medical evidence that corresponds with the descriptors, prescription lists, OT reports etc and DO NOT be intimidated by them. Some, not all, do not have your best interests at heart.
I could tell from working in the DWP for many years that this assessment was target driven and I thought to myself I refuse to be seen as a tick box exercise, I have a voice. After I left the assessment I will not deny that I was completely traumatised and depressed and thought to myself how dare they. Immediately I sent an email of complaint to Maximus, re: their so called Customer Journey.
I wish now that I had brought someone along with me on the day, but what is done is done.
Sorry for the rant but had to get it off my chest. Good luck everyone, we have to be strong together, I love this forum and sometimes have a lil cry at some of the posts.
RE: NON RECEIPT OF XMAS BONUS. Apparently there is a scan going out over the weekend as I think they have missed 30,000+ claimants - Source: ESA Call Centre.
