DLA Decision

Today the 5th May 2 letters arrived. First was standard letter saying that form had been received. We thought the second would be for a doctors visit, imagine our shock when we read DLA had been awarded, high rate care and mobility for the next two years. Total time from sending to getting the decision 8 days and that included a bank holiday!!
I don't think we could have filled the form in, giving all the facts and the info required if it hadn't been for your advice notes. Thanks to all the Mods and all the people posting on the site, really couldn't have done it without your help.

When I read some of the posts where claimants are having the most awful time and wrong decisions my heart goes out to them. I'm sure if the decision had been the other way my wife would not appeal, I think she would have been so demoralised that she would just give up. To all of the members who are waiting for a decision stick with it, keep fighting and don't forget all on this site are with you.
Hi b,
Quite a lot of our members have reported quick successful DLA renewals, however, there are a few where the decision has been made very close to the end date of the fixed term award.
The main thing is that your wife received a positive decision !
