DLA indefinite? was created by Janeyja
Hi, my current claim of the care component for DLA was up for renewal as of March 31st 2015. I was presuming I would have been sent the new PIP form?! however it was the usual DLA Claim pack which I filled in using your very useful guides. Today I received the letter stating I was awarded both the care and the mobility at the highest rates indefinitely, thiis is great news, however why have I been awarded this rather than PIP?? Is it likely the PIP claim pack will fall through the letter box in the coming months and indefinate DLA isn't worth the paper it's written on??

Very happy but rather confused......

Congratulations on the award.

You will have been sent a DLA renewal pack because you either were not in an active PIP postcode at the time or not in one in time for a PIP transfer to start.

If you were under 65 on 8 April 2013 then you will be invited to claim PIP at some time after October of this year, claimants will be chosen at random and the project is targeted to take many years to complete.
