Hi Mods
My husband was awarded CB ESA Support Group in Jan 2014, don't think we could have done it without the assistance of this wonderful website and your guides. We were so relieved at the time that we didn't think to ask for a " prognosis". I now note that in following the forum it would seem to be a good idea to have all the papers relating to how the DM applied the descriptors to assist us should the dreaded brown envelope drop on the mat for a " review". I should add that at his F2F last year the HP stopped the medical about 10 mins in and asked us to leave the room while she made a phone call. She then told us she did'nt need to continue the F2F and we were free to go! He was awarded Support Group shortly after. I have kept copies of the initial application form and also copies of all his appointment letters and reports over the last year as his condition is degenerative and he has been scheduled for more surgery, physio etc. However, as we want to be as prepared as possible my question is this: In your opinion would an SAR request now be likely to "trigger" a review sooner than later or would we be better to " let sleeping dogs lie"? Just trying to stay ahead of the game. I should add that we are in Northern Ireland. Many thanks!

There is no reason to assume that a SAR for the documents used in your husbands last Decision will result in a re-assessment process being initiated.

Unless there is indication of a Change of Circumstances the DWP will use the re-assessment date set when the last Decision was made, also the Department that processes SARs has nothing to do with the operation of ESA.
