DLA to PIP success ... was created by serenity jones
...but £2.30 per week worse off. Am not going to rock the boat by querying it - just pleased and relieved that they recognised my needs.

After it states in the award letter the date when payment of the new amount is to begin, it says '....for an ongoing period.' I'm not sure what that means, is it the same as indefinite?

Thank you so much for producing the guides, they are so helpful and made me feel supported, even though I was still very stressed throughout the whole process.

Congratulations on the award. :)

You shouldn't be worse off in general terms, obviously this depends on the award, the PIP rates are the same as DLA, so I assume one award has been increased and the other reduced.

Yes, you're right. I was on high mobility and low care before, now I'm on standard mobility and standard daily living.

I am wondering why I'm no longer on high mobility but as so many people have lost the award altogether because the bar is now so high I'm just going to go along with it as it's only four years till I get state pension, if the qualifying age doesn't go up again.

If you only have problems with walking, not going out, then the PIP test is a lot stricter as the distance is 20m rather than the generally accepted 50m for DLA.

Providing you continue to meet the criteria your PIP will remain in payment after you reach State Retirement Age.
