Hi everyone, please can you advise? My daughter is now in receipt of severe disablity premium. Will this affect her housing benifit, council tax, and homehelp service? She recieves dla, esa, and housing benefit , she lives in a one bedroom flat. If so how much ( she gets £60 pw approx in sdp)?
Thankyou so much for the wonderful support you give to us,best money ive ever spent on a membership!! :)

Hi t,

As The SDP is paid as an Income Related (IR) ESA top-up, it should not have any adverse effect of your daughter's HB, etc.

In fact being in receipt of IR ESA can passport a claimant to other "benefits" such as HB, Council Tax Support (CTS), free prescriptions, eye tests, and dental care, etc.

You could drop a line to the LA/Council that administers her HB, it would certainly do no harm. However, they may already be aware. :)
