I hope this helps other users... I've never posted, I've just read. After 18 months.... I finally won my DLA claim for HRM, and LRC at appeal after previously being turned down. I also lost the mandatory reconsideration. I had no idea why, as some days I can't walk. I could have applied for it 2 years previous after a car accident but I put it off and applied for it when it got too bad and after spending 13.5 weeks bed-ridden it wasn't much fun being turned down and I was in utter despair. I met the description of qualifying so why did they turn me down? Fair enough I could walk 26 yards on better days but no more than that and I couldn't do it safely or repeatedly. This is where B&W came in... I found your site while confined to bed, feeling utterly miserable and having bad thoughts but from that day I never looked back. Thank you so much for the work you do. You have no idea how much you help people if we don't let you know. I was at my wits end and you were like Angels that lifted a weight off my shoulders. It turns out it was due to my poor form filling. Although I said I couldn't walk, I was expecting them to be mind readers. You really must read the guidelines on this site; I knew instantly where I'd gone wrong. They're not mind readers, they don't have common sense, we're just numbers on forms - tell them what happens when you can't walk and why it prevents you from walking. It is tempting to think that anyone would understand that one can't do A or B because of X and Z but we must explain everything in detail, dotting the i's and crossing the t's if we want DWP/ATOS to understand the impact of our limitations.
