DLA Renewal success - but when will PIP come?

Hello All!

My DLA was due to expire in July 2014 - I was invited to renew. Imagine my absolute surprise to receive a new award of Higher rate care & Higher rate mobility for 5 years (wait for it) within 7 Days of submission!! No medical or other enquiries. :woohoo:

Thank you so much Benefits and Work, I'm sure the success was due to following your guide to the letter. Enclosing enough evidence of your conditions and circumstances is paramount I have learned.

My only concern now is when will I be expected to apply for PIP - I assumed that I was already going to have to go down that road as I thought that there were no renewals after February?

The system seems to be so confusing, and in turn creates unnecessary anxiety.

Thank you once again.

Congratulations on the award. :)

It is difficult for us to give accurate advice on PIP when looking so far ahead, but you will either be transferred to PIP on the renewal of your new DLA award e.g. 2019 or, if the PIP transfer process goes well (it hasn't got off to a good start), and all of the Indefinite awards have been transferred then they may start to clear up the then remaining DLA fixed term awards, which could mean you being transferred earlier, but I would not expect it to be by much.

Thank You Gordon

At least I can relax a little then, however my heart goes out to all of those who are experiencing difficulties and delays.

Without doubt, the Benefits and Work Guides are exceptional, and have been invaluable for both of my claims - ESA & DLA Renewal - I would urge all those faced with these daunting applications to use them, especially the four step method in DLA claims.

Once again, many thanks to you and the team at Benefits and Work.
